It is the land where living is easier and dying is less difficult,
Where the eternity does not uphold the temporal concerns secretly any longer,
Where it is more divine than human and where one does not have to suffer for all
But dream for them!
(Bolesław Leśmian, Metafizyka)
“The Remoted ones” is a two-person show based on the works by one of the most imaginative Polish poets – Bolesław Leśmian. The spectacle is a kind of laboratory where we try to analyse the poetic world of the polish creative representing the ideas of bergsonism. We try to do this with the instruments derived from the theatre of form, the art of performance, concert and punk culture. Is it possible to get to the core of life through the experience of corporeality? In particular the corporeality of liminal forms which was the area of Leśmian’s fascination? What is the sense of love, suffering, death? Is poetry important to us – today ’s people at all in 2020, a hundred years after the first edition of “Łąka”(“Meadow”)? And what can we learn about ourselves from it?
