Ten projekt łączy w sobie język migowy i teatr lalkowy, skupiając się na kwestii „odmiennych ludzi”. Na scenie występują zarówno niesłyszący jak i słyszący aktorzy i lalkarze. Motywem przewodnim filmu „Być Calineczką” jest „odmienna osoba”, wyrzutek, który dąży do odnalezienia swojego ja i przeżywa różne przygody w trakcie szukania swojego miejsca pod Słońcem. To historia o wierze w siebie i walce w poszukiwaniu szczęścia. Jako, że wszyscy mamy podstawową ludzką potrzebę bycia kochanymi i akceptowanymi, „niejednoznaczność środowiska” jest kolejnym założeniem projektu. Ludzie nie akceptują Calineczki taką, jaka jest, a pragną na nowo ją uformować, by mieściła się w ich formy. To sprowadza wewnętrzny konflikt, dylemat. Z jednej strony jest poczucie samotności i izolacji, a z drugiej perspektywa zatracenia siebie. Odwieczny problem bycia miedzy młotem a kowadłem.

This project intermixes deaf people’s Sign language and puppet theatre, with an increased focus on the topic of “different people”. The creative team brings together deaf and hearing actors and puppeteers. The main topic in the movie “Being Thumbelina” is “the different person”, the outsider, who seeks identity and belonging and the adventure of “finding your place under the sun”. This is a story for self‐belief and for the struggle in search of happiness. And because everyone has the essential human need to be loved and to be accepted, the “ambiguity of community” is the next topic related to the project. The society doesn’t accept Thumbelina the way she is, but wants to shape and mold her. This brings an internal conflict, a dilemma. On the one hand the feeling of loneliness and isolation and on the other hand the perspective to lose yourself. The eternal problem of choice.
