Ewa Agnieszka Zemło – absolwentka Liceum Plastycznego w Supraślu i Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Białostockiej. Autorka scenografii realizowanych w teatrach w Polsce i za granicą, m.in. Teatrze Dramatycznym w Białymstoku, Teatr Pleciuga w Szczecinie, Divadlo Loutek w Ostravie. Od lat współtworzy Teatr Łątek Supraśl oraz Teatr Okno kreując warstwę plastyczną spektakli i działań teatralnych. Realizator wielu warsztatów artystycznych i scenograficznych. Uprawia głównie olejne malarstwo sztalugowe. Swoje obrazy i instalacje prezentowała na wystawach zbiorowych i indywidualnych. Stypendystka Marszałka Województwa Podlaskiego.

Prezentowane na wystawie obrazy olejne oraz instalacje pochodzą przede wszystkim z cyklu „Jajo”. Jajko to wielki temat kultury. W według dawnych mitologii było kolebką całego Wszechświata. Niezależnie od wierzeń jego wymowa symboliczna jest tożsama na całym nieomal świecie. Jest symbolem stworzenia i życia. Jego fenomen fascynował wielu malarzy, a niektórzy z nich tj. Hieronim Bosch i Salvador Dali uczynili z jajka jeden z głównych motywów swojej twórczości. Tematyka „jaja” jest na tyle otwarta, że u każdego może wyzwalać różne skojarzenia, dosłowne i w przenośni. W swoich pracach ukazuję jajo jako narodziny początku wszechrzeczy, a co za tym idzie i życia, które jest tak kruche i bezlitośnie przemijające.

Ewa Agnieszka Zemło – She graduated from The Art High School in Supraśl and majored in Architecture at the Białystok University of Technology. She creates the scenography for Polish and foreign theatres: Aleksander Węgierko Drama Theatre in Bialystok; Pleciuga Puppet Theatre in Szczecin; Divadlo Loutek in Ostrava. She’s been co-creating Teatr Łątek Supraśl and Teatr Okno for years, being responsible for providing the art layer for their performances and theatrical projects. Not only that, but she carried out many artistic and stage design masterclasses. She uses mostly easel oil painting. Her paintings and installations were presented at collective and individual exhibitions. She is a scholarship holder of the Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship.

Oil paintings and installations presented at the exhibition come from the series “Egg.” The egg is a great cultural topic. According to the old mythologies, the egg was the cradle of the whole universe. Regardless of the beliefs, its symbolic meaning is the same in almost all parts of the world. It is a symbol of creation and life. Its phenomenon fascinated many painters, and some of them (Hieronim Bosch and Salvador Dali) made the egg the main subject of their works. The theme of “an egg” is so open that it can trigger different associations, literally and figuratively, for everyone. In my works I present the egg as the birth of the beginning of all things, and thus life which is so fragile and mercilessly fleeting.
