Dagmara Jemioła-Hryniewicka (ur. 1989): malarka, weganka, aktywistka. Absolwentka Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Katowicach. Dyplom magisterski obroniła w 2018 roku w pracowni prof. Jacka Rykały. Jest czynną uczestniczką wystaw międzynarodowych i ogólnopolskich m.in: Grand Prix Fundacji im. Franciszki Eibisch Galeria Sztuki Katarzyny Napiórkowskiej, Warszawa, 2017 rok i 2018 rok; Konfrontacje Sztuki wystawa zbiorowa, Galeria Test, Warszawa 2018 rok; Międzynarodowa wystawa online Motile Art, Indie 2022 rok; Międzynarodowa wystawa „Animals Art Exhibition” Artists Space, USA 2023 rok. Laureatka Grand Prix ANIMALIS 2023, Miejska Galeria Sztuki MM, Chorzów. Tworzy autorską scenografię do spektakli teatralnych. Współtworzy Teatr NEMNO.

Prace zaprezentowane na wystawie „Matki pozaludzkie” są kontynuacją podjętego przez artystkę tematu praw zwierząt. Tym razem głównym podmiotem rozważań staje się relacja matka – dziecko. Artystka stara się poprzez swoje prace udowodnić odbiorcom, że zwierzęce matki również czują, kochają i troszczą się o swoje potomstwo, podobnie jak matki ludzkie.  Natomiast masowe hodowle, przemysł mleczarski, czy inne formy działalności ludzkiej odbierają im możliwość bycia razem, stając się dla nich najgorszym koszmarem. Świnie mruczą swoim dzieciom kołysanki, czyż nie wydaje nam się to znajome?

Dagmara Jemioła-Hrynicka – a painter, vegan and activist born in 1989. She graduated from The Fine Arts Academy in Katowice. She got her Master’s diploma in 2018 in Professor Jacek Rykała’s workshop. She is an active participant in national and international exhibitions such as the Grand Prix of The Franciszka Eibisch Foundation The Gallery of Katarzyna Napiórkowska, Warsaw 2017 & 2018; Konfrontacje Sztuki (Art Confrontations) collective work, Art Gallery TEST, Warsaw 2018; International online exhibition Motile Art, India 2022; International exhibition “Animals Art Exhibition” Artists Space, USA 2023. Recipient of Grand Prix ANIMALIS 2023, Urban Art Gallery MM, Chorzów. She creates original scenography for theatre performances and co-creates the NEMNO Theatre.

The works presented in “Non-human Mothers” are the continuation of the author’s undertaken topic of animal rights. This time the main issue discussed is the relation between mother and her child. Through her work, the artist tries to prove to her receivers that animal mothers also feel, love and care for their offspring just like human mothers do. However, mass animal breeding, the dairy industry, or other forms of human intervention are their biggest nightmare taking away the opportunity for animal families to be together. Pigs are humming lullabies to their piglets, doesn’t it seem familiar?
